Classification of Bedbugs
Bedbugs fall under the phylum Arthropoda of the animalia kingdom. All the characteristics that apply to members of this phylum also apply to bedbugs. Further down the classification, they are found in the Insecta class. In studying the various orders of this class, the bedbugs come under the order Hemiptera. The Climicidae family consists of bedbugs as one of the members. Finally in the classification, they come under the Cimex lectularius species. bed bugs bites The size of a bedbug is about ¼ of an inch. They have a broad, flat oval shape. The color of an adult bedbug ranges from mahogany to rusty brown. They have six legs with antenna but no wings.
